Consistency is a 3D collect-a-thon game where the player must repeatedly collect all the collectables in order to progress while dealing with inconsistent challenges that appear. The message behind the game is the importance of consistency for people with Autism.
Due to being a project done by myself I was responsible for doing most of the work however, to help with the workload I made use of third-party assets in the areas of audio, 3d models and making a skybox. My personal highlights of what I produced for this level were the two levels, as well as the enemy AI.
In order to illustrate the message, most of the game is spent in the first level, when caught, they go into a second level type which is harder to stimulate being overwhelmed. The primary method of getting the frustration of inconsistency across to the player is through the changing of in game.
Overall, while I am happy with what I produced for this level, the scope of the project ended up being rather small and might have benefited from a slightly expanded scope. In addition, cleaner UI, higher quality visuals and more clarity on what is happening with the meltdown level would be beneficial.
